Junji Ito. The one man who has inspired my deep love for Japanese horror. A dental practitioner turned mangaka, Junji Ito is nothing more then a visual genius. His style of art is so good, so creepy, it sends chills up my spine. Here are some of his works:

Gyo: A tragic tale of death and parasitism.


Tomie: They say beauty is only skin deep...


And my personal favorite, Uzumaki: a concoction of bizarre situation and grotesque mutations.

Junji Ito is the shit in J-horror.

I've only read Uzumaki by him, and it was pretty damn good. I want to read Gyo, i've been asking my neighbor to borrow it, he won't let me, same with L, he too won't loan it too me.

I'll just buy it on my own time. lol

I neved watched Uzumaki but Itami said it's really good. When's the anime next meeting coz I need to track Toni down and I want to watch Uzumaki too!!!

I'm not sure that we'll be watching Uzumaki there. Even though it has an NR rating (Most non-mainstream Japanese movies slip past the MPAA), is somewhat violent, has some disturbing images, and is as freaky as all hell. I don't want to be held accountable is a child is somewhat scared or frightened (After all, it is my movie).

Ah that’s understandable well I guess I’ll just have to make a way to watch it in my own plan I guess.

That be good also but I’ve got certain problems regarding about Japanese related things and taking them Home.  Yeah the people I live with Hate and I mean HATE anything and everything that hast o do with Anime or Japanese…. Yeah… is it with subtitles or in English voiced? If English Voiced it would probably be fine but if not I’ll probably still borrow it and actually watch it at Itami’s house. Lol but thanks for telling me.

It has subtitles, but it really could just be considered J-Horror, not anime related. (Though of course it does come from his manga series.)
